Committee on Sponsored Youth and Scholarships
Sponsored Youth responsibilities includes the K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K,Terrific Kids, and Aktion Clubs . These groups are simply Kiwanis Clubs for different age groups. The same concepts of leadership, service and good citizenship are encouraged in these groups. Each of these groups has a institutional sponsor and a Kiwanis member who is a liaison for the group. Terrific Kids is a recognition program that awards elementary students for improvements and achievements in service and citizenship activities. Co Chair Randy Cook, Co Chair Pam Cook

Scholarship Sub Committee Responsibilities include identifying and awarding student recipients of high school age scholarships to further their educations. The following committee is responsible to the Kiwanis Club Board of directors for recommending those students whom they have identified through their internal processes who are most worthy of the scholarship funds budgeted by the Board of Directors for this purpose.
In addition to the above Kiwanis Youth organizations the above committee has added oversight to a San Marcos Boy Scout Medical Explorer organization which the Kiwanis Club of San Marcos has added its sponsorship The following are directly acting on behalf of the Kiwanis Club sponsorship and may participate in the above committees in a non voting role after forwarding thier recommendations to the Scholarship Committee for recipients of the funds Budgeted to the Medical Explorrers for that purpose.

The Scholarship Sub Committee also reviews the recommendations of the Medical Explorer advisors for recipients of scholarship funds allocated for that purpose and forward those recommendations to the Board of Directors for their action.
