Committee on Finance and Fundraising

This committee  is responsible for all fiscal activities of the club to include but nor limited to prepparing a recommneded Annual Operating Budget for submission to the board of directors,in addition to but not limitd to; Flag Day. Pancake day,Silent Auction, Garage Sale, Moe's Half Marathon:  Chair Gary Nelson; Members Kelli Whigham, Pam Cook, Tracy Herman, Moe Johnson


Breakfast Sub Committee

This event is scheduled annually.It is a major fundraising project with ll of the San Marcos Kiwanis Club members participating. It is currently held in February at the San Marcos Activity Center.Tickets are available from all members or at the Door. The breakfast, also available as a carryout consists of Pancakes,link sausage, Coffee and juice. two seating times are available in the morning and afternoon. This event is also conducted with a major "Silent Auction" immediately conducted after each session of breakfast.Items available i the auction or provided by local merchants and artisans

Silent Auction:

This event is a major fundraising project conducted annually in conjunction with the Pancake Breakfast. Items of widely varied descriptions are donated by club members, local merchants and artisans. and are available for viewing during the morning and afternoon sessions of the pancake breakfast. Funds raised by this event are used in support of mlocal community youth and local charities supported annually by the San Marcos Kiwanis Club. Descriptions of these are decserver in mor detail in other sections of this website.

GARAGE SALE

This event is a major fundraising project of the San Marcos Kiwanis and is conducted annually with all of the local club members participating. It includes new and pre-owned merchandize of all types, sizes and description. provided by our members and friends of the club. It is conducted in the fall and spring with scheduled dates advertised widely in local publications. It is located at the clubs warehouse on Staples Rd near DeZavalla Elementary School

FLAG DISPLAY

:Patriotism is held in high regard in Kiwanis and this is one reason we do this particular fund- raising project. Members of this committee approach merchants around the town, especially around the square, to purchase the services of the flag committee to raise and lower a flag for them on Patriotic holidays throughout the year. All of the funds raised each year are donated to the Summer Reading Program at the public library.

MOE'S HALF MARATHON

This event is conducted annually on a certified course starting and ending at the local discount shopping mall and over mildly variable gradse on paved rural road east of the starting point. Over 350 runners register for this event which utilizes funds raised to support the various youth and charity programs of our Club. These services are described in more detail in other sections of our Website.
