   'MEALS TO GROW"....OUR PROGRAM FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 3RD'
Marcie Burleson will be bringing the program this coming Thursday, entitled "Meals to Grow". She will be bringing extra people with her.
"Twelve million children in America don't get enough food to live active, healthy lives. These children are in our classrooms and on our playgrounds. Children should never go hungry. Yet many children who depend on school provided meals have little or no access to numerous food on the weekends. A child is unequipped to learn when they are hungry.
Simply Meals to Grow volunteers assemble bags of food. the schools identify children who are considered at high risk of hunger, Hopefully, with this program, these children can return to school on Monday ready to learn. There will be a written explanation for everyone at our program on Thursday.

.jpg)  All of you members who came out, helped out and stayed the whole day with this year's Pancake Day and Silent Auction are to be congratulated. We don't have a final count yet, but we will have it next week. Also, a great big 'congratulations' to all of you who went out, beat the bushes and stores, business establishments to acquire our large selection of Silent Auction items. There's only one way to come up with those items, and that is to go out and get them. You, who furnished auction items are to be highly congratulated. This event couldn't have come off if those who helped, either in cooking, serving, bussing, buying,setting up, tearing down, in general committing yourself to your club and helping out. You all are to be commended and we say a great big 'thank you'. We also want to give a rousing thank you for members of our Key Club and Med Explorers that came out and helped serve.    "MOE'S 32ND ANNUAL BETTER HALF MARATHON...... Over the last 32 years, Moe's better Half Marathon has evolved into one of the more popular road races in central Texas. Named after San Marcos running guru and race director Dr. Moe Johnson, MBHM is known for its challenging and scenic course and often colorful race management.- The proceeds from this race will benefit Kiwanis charities and scholarships. Remember Kiwanis club members, we need all of you to help out with this race. It will be this coming Sunday morning, March 6th and will start promptly at 7:00am. Those who will be helping are asked to be at Tanger Outlet Mall at 5:30am and bring tables, coolers etc. The packets will be picked up from Core Running Company on Saturday, March 5th, 2015, 10am - 5pm. Awards will be presented to the male and female Overall, Masters (over 40), Senior Masters (50-59) and Grand Masters (60-and over) champions, and to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age division. The awards presentation will be at 9:30a.m.
- The award this year will be a mounted print of an original oil painting by Moe Johnson himself. Be sure and get his signature on the print. All registrants will receive a long-sleeved high-tech unisex style T-shirt. All finishers will receive a runner's hat and a ceramic coffee mug. OH THOSE BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN YEARS!
"Leaving the store, I couldn't find my keys. They weren't in my pockets. Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My husband has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car's ignition. He's afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.
Then I made the most difficult call of all to my husband. "I left my keys in the car and it's been stolen."
There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his voice. "Are you kidding me?" he barked, "I dropped you off!" Now it was my turn to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well, come and get me." He retorted, "I will, just as soon as I convince this cop that I didn't steal your darn car.!" Welcome to the golden years.......
