On Columbus Day, October 13, our flag displayers were really put to the test . When they got to Ted's place to pick up the flags, they found that the entire square had been blocked off because of some live TV filming the city was doing, so all of the displayers had to weave around, in and out of side roads, in many cases had to carry the flags to their destinations. But all of the flags were placed in spite of all of the obstacles. Our grateful thanks to: Randy Cook, Ted Breihan, Gary Nelson, Gary Strunk, Doug Balkman, Francis Mendez, Del Brown, Rob Martin, John Polk, Charles Johnson, Glen Rydl, Frederick Case & James Collier. Well done you guys!.The businesses that have purchased flags to be displayed are counting on us. (Besides, all of the flags around the square might look real good in that TV episode)
Just an early reminder, although it's not too early, November 8th, is our annual Veteran's Day Parade. A lot of you have signed up to help with this, we've done it in the past, and we know just how important this event is to our Veterans and to our kids. We are going to need your help from beginning to end. We will have a detailed text which Lon Shell wrote several years back, and it is about as complete an explanation as we can get. It is also on clubrunner, but we will have copies of it at next week'smeeting to hand out.(43-B) It's a lot of work, but is very beneficial when you think about it. We are registered, brochures have been made up to hand out to the children in school, we will need to help them decorate their bikes (44-D)by the courthouse on the day of
the parade. Let's have a great turnout for this, and be sure and wear your tee shirt from last year. They really do promote the spirit of the event. Come and help to decorate the float, and don't forget, we have to UN

The race is almost upon us. 8:ooam, this coming Saturday - October 25, 2014. Meet and register at San Marcos Toyota. This is our first race of this nature and hopefully will be an annual event.
