 "KIWANIS OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH, 2015"
President Moe presented the "Kiwanis of the Month" for March, 2015 to Gary Strunk. Gary has been active in our club from the first day he joined. Gary took over the job of Camp Coordinator for our Kiwanis Camp, and coordinated much of the cleanup which was plenty. He was also involved in flags, helping put together ramp modules, working on the Bonham School project, helping out from beginning to the end of Pancake Day, was at Moe's Better Half race bright and early and stayed to the end. If you call on Gary to do something connected with our club, he is most willing. Wear the T-Shirt proudly Gary. You deserve it!

 VOLUNTEERS! VOLUNTEERS! VOLUNTEERS OPPORTUN ITY TO SERVE!
 Pam Cook brought an excellent program last Thursday when Rev. Todd Salmi, Associate pastor of First United Methodist Church gave us a most enlightening picture of ServeSanMarcos, Students from the University are craving to do volunteer work and ServeSanMarcos has the answer to provide that help and it is paying off in great rewards not financial, but reward of helping out in our community through partnering through an enormous group of organizations within our community that are crying for volunteers to come and help.  .jpg) A THANK YOU BOOKLET FROM BONHAM SCHOOL TO OUR CLUB!
Last Thursday, Pres. Moe shared a booklet composed and submitted by the children of Bonham School in grateful appreciation for the work our club did by constructing garden boxes (see photo). Our club built 12 Garden boxes for the children to put plants in, This was a project to help beautify the playground at Bonham. It was a fun project and several clubs took part in assembling and filling the boxes, getting them ready to plant. The booklet shared some messages from the children like: "Thank you for making our garden pretty. All of us like you!)....(Thank you. I like the flowers and plants .)....(We have daisies in our garden/ Thank you)....

MOE'S 32D BETTER HALF MARATHON. 
President Moe Johnson agreed with everyone that Moe's Race on March 5th was one of the best races as far as the runner's enthusiasm, and eagerness to enjoy every aspect of the race. Everything went off like clockwork, everyone that helped showed up early enough so that everything was ready to go at 7am. It really makes a difference when the runners, and everyone connected with setting, taking water to the various stations are all in the right frame of mind. Thanks to runners, organizers, helpers, those that brought fruit, coffee, sausages in a roll, candy, everything to make the over 200 runners feel like they were really important. Thanks Moe for once again taking on this race to help with scholarships etc. Last Thursday, Moe presented a check for $4,000 to Randy Cook, our club Treasurer, which will be put into our special account to provide for HS scholarships.
