We had a Wonderful Installation Dinner and Awards Ceremony, and we were not charged a penny for it. Tracy put the whole thing together and it was wonderful. Thanks so much Tracy for doing this. But.......it was suggested that those present might give a donation of $10 a person. There was no pressure to do so, but some did, and then some did not. Since Tracy was gracious enough to set everything up, the least we can do is to honor her suggestion. If you forgot to give the suggested donation at the Banquet, you might want to do so this coming Thursday at club meeting. Thanks.

Randy Cook will be bringing our program this coming Thursday....Mr. Ruben Becerra, who owns Gil's Broiler, Manske Roll Bakery and Dixie Cream Artisan Donuts will be coming to talk to us about the issues surrounding our downtown businesses. Even though he is a candidate for a public office, he will not be talking as a candidate, but as an individual vitally interested in what is going on in our downtown area. He has served on the planning and zoning commission, and serves as board president of Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos. Let's have a good turnout for our guest.

The red marble that gives the Colorado State Capital building in Denver it's reddish hue is known as "Beulah Red" It took over six years to cut, polish and install the marble into the Capital, which was constructed from 1894 - 1900. All of the discovered "Beulah Red" marble was used for the project, so it is completely irreplaceable.

(With regards to leadership), Division and District have their own leadership. "The Lt. Governor, who represents the Governor within the region occupied by (typically) 10-15 clubs, is accorded the same respect that Kiwanisans would show the Governor if he or she were present. For example, when acting in his official capacity, the Lt. Governor is welcomed into club meetings with standing applause. The general rule is that Kiwanians rise to greet the highest-ranking Kiwanian present (starting with Lt. Governor).
