Program for this coming Thursday, September 13!
John Polk will be bringing the program for this coming Thursday and his name is Bob Favor. Bob is a retired Texas Ranger who was born in the midst of the great depression. After serving 4 years in the navy, 9 years as a Highway patrolman and 25 years as a Texas ranger, Bob Favor has a story for every minute of the day.
He has been married to one lovely lady named Beth for over 55 years. he is a father of four lovely daughters, grandfather of seven, and has a brilliant Siberian Husky named Ziegen who can unlock any lock he sets his mind to!.
Bob enjoys participating in chuck wagon events, explaining the value of Ranger stories to youth, speaking with social and community service groups about his Texas Ranger experiences. You don't want to miss this program. Bring a friend with you.

September 7, 1999 - - For the first time since World War II, German's parliament, the Bundestag, returned to Berlin, formal capital of Imperial Germany as well as Hitler's Reich. The Bundestag held its first session in the fully restored Reichstag building, attended by parliamentarians from around the world. The session also marked the 50th anniversary of the Bundestag's first post-war session, held in Bonn, the formal capital of West Germany.
September 8, 1900 - - A hurricane with winds of 120 mph struck Galveston, Texas, killing over 8,000 persons, making it the worst natural disaster in U.S. History. The hurricane and tidal wave that followed destroyed over 2,500 buildings.
September 9, 1993 - - Israel and the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) agreed to recognize each other, paving the way for a possible peaceful end to the hundred year old conflict between Arabs and Jews in the Mideast.
September 10, 1919 - - Following the defeat of Germany in World War I, the victorious Allies signed the Treaty of Saint-Germain ceding parts of pre-war German-Austria to Italy and Czechoslovakia. Austria was also forbidden to unite with Germany.
September 11, 2001 - - The worst terrorist attack in U.S. History occurred as four large passenger jets were hijacked then crashed, killing nearly 3,000 persons. The rest is history. America will long remember this attack.
September 12, 1943 - - Former Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini was rescued by German paratroopers on orders from Adolf Hitler. Mussolini was being held prisoner by Italian authorities following the collapse of his Fascist regime.
September 13, 1788 - - The U.S. Congress chose New York as the Federal capital of the new American government.
A Day we Shall Always Remember.....Patriot Day
Another Flag Day will be Patriot Day, indeed a day no one will ever forget. September 11, Flags will be put up, so those who are putting flags up meet at Ted's Place at 7am, on September 11, and raise the Red, White & Blue in honor of those who gave their lives in this cruel and awful incident. Let us remember all of our patriots around the world that are fighting those who would want to destroy the United States.

"Like a Stoughton bottle; stolid; unemotional; stupidily dumb. Usually any such dumb bunny is said to sit or stand like a bump on a log, meaning just to sit or stand in vacuous silence. The metaphor is American and may have referred originally to the stolid protuberance found on almost any log, or it may have been suggested as a comparison of the discomfort from sitting on a bumpy log as a comparison of the discomfort from sitting on a bumpy log with the discomfort of association with a superbly dumb companion.
