OH, I LOVE THIS ONE!!!
According to a news report, a certain private school in Brisbane was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12 year old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints......Well, every night the maintenance men would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.sooooooo! She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princiesses). To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance m,an to show the girls how much effort was required.
He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror."

OUR UPCOMING PROGRAM, THURSDAY, JULY 16, 2015
In the past, we have had some wonderful and informative programs and we will continue to have those. If you have a program coming up in July and August, please let your editor know so he can give it plenty of exposure to all of our members and frients that we send the bulletin out to. Right now, we are are sending the bulletin to 73 persons. If you have someone that would like to receive the bulletin, just give me their name and email address, and we will put them on our mailout list.
Our program this coming Thursday is going be a time for us all to discuss the + and the - of our club activities, both those that have already been held and will come up next year and those which still lie just ahead of us. Gary Nelson is putting together some talking points on our activities This Thursday is a time to express our views on how to make things better for next year. If something has been left outm let us know. We are family! Remember? Teamwork! Remember! This will be like a Roundtable but we would like as many of you to attend as can. If you have some ideas that you would like to express by all means come and do just that, OK?

David Chandler's name was drawn and would have won, because he is usually present, but David is on a extended missionary trip from his church, and probably won't be back much before October. We wish him well and God's speed. So we have $ 2.00 in the jar for this coming Thursday. Who will win $4.00 this week, because we add $2.00 each week.

Thanks to Charles Johnson for bringing our club last Thursday, a wonderful travelogue program on Tangiers, Morrocco, and especially the Kasbah. I know I for one was not totally familiar
 with what a 'Kasbah' was, but because of Charles wide travelling experience, he made his presentation alive and interesting. Charles has many more fascinating tales to tell, and hope this won't be his last one. Thanks Charles.

 HISTORICAL EVENTS THAT HAPPENED DURING THE WEEK OF JULY 10 - 16 .
July 10, 1943..........The Allied Invasion of Italy began with an attack on the island of Sicily. The British entry into
Syracuse was the first Allied success in Europe. General Dwight D. Eisenhower labeled the invasion "the first page in the liberation of the European Continent."
July 11, 1767...........John Quincy Adams (1767-1848, the 16th U.S. President and son of the 2nd President, John Adams, was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. After serving just one term as President, he served 17 years as a member of Congress. He died in 1848 while in the House of Representatives in the same room in which he had taken the presidential Oath of Office. He was the first president whose father had also been president.
July 12, 1994...........Germany's Constitutional Court ended the ban on sending German troops to fight outside the country. The ban had been in effect since the end of World War II. The ruling allowed German troops to join in United Nations and NATO peace-keeping missions. On July 14, German military units marched in Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, the first appearance of German troops there since WW II.
July 13, 1787.............Congress enacted the Northwest Ordinance establishing formal procedures for transforming territories into states. It provided for the eventual establishment of three to five states in the area north of the Ohio River, to be considered equal with the original 13. The Ordinance included a Bill of Rights that guaranteed freedom of religion, the right to trial by jury, public education and a ban on slavery in the Northwest.
July 14, 1791............In England, the Birmingham riot occurred on the second anniversary of the fall of the Bastille. Mob rule lasted for three days, targeting controversial scientist and theologian Joseph Priestly's home and laboratory as well as the homes of his friends. Priestly, who had expressed support for the American and French revolutions, fled to London with his family and later moved to America.
July 15, 1918..............During the Battle of the Marne in WWI, German General Erich Ludendorff launched Germany;s fifth and last, offensive to break through the Chateau-Thierry salient. However, the Germans were stopped American, British and Italian divisions. On July 18, General Foch, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied troops, launched a massive counter-offensive. The Germans began a retreat lasting four months until they requested an armistice in November.
July 16, 1945.............The experimental Atomic bomb "Fat Boy" was set off at 5:30a.m. in the desert of New Mexico, creating a mushroom cloud rising 41,000 ft. The bomb emitted heat three times the temperature of the interior of the sun and wiped out all plant and animal life within a mile.
