Our Program for this coming Thursday, 27th February.........Pancake Day And Silent Auction
Just as we have done in the past, everyone needs to turn out around 7:30am this coming Thursdayat the San Marcos Activity Center and be prepared to give our very best for our Pancake Day and Silent Auction. It's been super, super in the past, let's not change this year. We all know what we need to do, so let's do it in the good old Kiwanis Spirit. If you have ticket money, give it to Doug Balkman, our Treasurer. We all know what our jobs are, so let's make it a 'howling success'. As it has been in the past, our community has been looking forward to pancakes, sausages and all the trimmings. We are going to have a fantastic Silent Auction, and thanks to everyone on the Pancake Committee that has been spending hours in preparing for this Thursday. See you club members at 7:45am, and be ready to GO, GO,GO!!!
The Program from Last Week "Wow, you talk about a detailed program....well we had one last week as Doug Balkman led our club through all of the different steps that our club needs to go through to put on a very successful Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction. It takes a lot of last minute details to make sure that we will have a very successful event. Every member of our club has a job to do, and how to do it, because we are doing it all for the privilege of serving pancakes and displaying silent auction items for our community.

February 23, 1942 - - - During World War II, the first attack on the U.S. mainland occurred as a Japanese submarine shelled an oil refinery near Santa Barbara, California, causing minor damage.
February 24, 1867 - - - The House of Representatives voted to impeach President Andrew Johnson. The vote followed bitter opposition by the Radical Republicans in Congress toward Johnson's reconstruction policies in the South. However, the effort to remove him failed in the Senate by just one vote.
