One day a man drove his secretary home after she fell quite ill at work. Although this was an innocent gesture, he decided not to mention it to his wife, who tended to get jealous easily. Later that night the man and his wife were driving to a restaurant. Suddenly he looked down and spotted a high-heel shoe half hidden under the passenger seat. Not wanting to be conspicuous, he waited until his wife was looking out her window before he scooped up the shoe and tossed it out of the car. With a sigh of relief, he pulled into the restaurant parking lot. That's when he noticed his wife squirming around in her seat. "Honey," she asked, "have you seen my other shoe?" By now most of our members know that our fellow club member and Lt. Gov for Division 38, Rob Martin had to be rushed to CTMC with heart pain, and then rushed to Austin Heart Hospital to have open heart surgery on December 26. He successfully underwent quadruple bypass. He developed some problems with blood pressure etc, so he had to be in ICU longer than was expected, but as of this day, January 2, 2015, He has been moved into a room on the second floor, and several have visited him yesterday. He was alert, eating a bite, but feels that he will be out of commissioned for several weeks. He would like visitors. The hospital is located on the corner of North Lamar and 38th street in Austin. Hurry and get well Rob. Keep he and Judy in your prayers.
This coming Thursday's program will be presented by Glen Rydl, who will bring Richard Parrish, from the A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Knowing Glen's interest in agriculture, plants, flowers, and other natural resources, this should be a great program. Let's have a good turnout for the first program of the new year. Bring a friend. There will be a special board meeting immediately following the program on January 8th. The main topic will be discuss and to vote on whether our club will strive to be a Model club this year. We can do it, I'm sure. We need a quorum in order to do any business. We will explain what a Model Club, but I can say that it has everything to do with the Eliminate Project, and we know how important that is to our club, Division, District and International of Kiwanis. If the Board approves it, then it will be brought before our general membership to vo on.
