We also had 7 interclub members over from the New Braunfels Club, which is in Division 5. They were: Thomas Greenstein, President; Barbara Greenstein, Treasurer; Marilyn Miller, Secretary, Kay Gearin, Jan Clark, Mike Clark, and Sheri Treadwell.Itg was a great group and we thank them for coming. We will be reciprocating one of these weeks.

  "AFTER THE HONEYMOON!~"
Rupert and Elaine, a young couple, got married and went happily on their honeymoon.
When they got back, Elaine immediately phoned her mother and her mother obviously asked, 'How was the honeymoon, dearest?'
'Oh, Ma' she replied, 'the honeymoon was wonderful, so romantic Elaine burst out crying, 'but Ma, as soon as we returned home, Rupert starting using the most ghastly language....saying things I've never heard before! I mean, all these awful 4-letter words!. You've got to come get me and take me home.....Please Ma'!
'Calm down, Elaine,' said her mother, 'Tell me, what could be so awful? What 4-letter words?'
Still sobbing, Elaine whispered, 'Oh Ma....words like dust, wash, cook, and iron.'"

 LAST WEEKS PROGRAM WAS A CHALLENGE TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY! Lon Shell gave a v ery inspiring challenge to our club last Thursday, when he proposed to over 27 members as well as individuals from the New Braunfels Kiwanis club, that we tackle some projects which have been requested from Bonham Pre-Kindergarten school. Lon had a power point slide presentation which laid out some projects which Bonham has asked for assistance in making their playground area not only beautiful, but also beneficial to children in their play time. The first project which our club has agreed to begin is going to constructing some above ground or 'raised' garden space. (See pictures).
Lon's presentation met with enthusiasm from oui club, so a date has been set to start in on these raised garden beds. It will be on SATURDAY, JANUARY 23, 21st, AROUND 9AM, OVER AT THE BONHAM SCHOOL PLAY GROUND AREAS. The school will furnish the 'soil', all we need to do is constrict the frames. All club members that are available will be very much appreciated. There are other projects that we can help with, but this will be a start.  UPCOMING PROGRAM FOR THIS THURSDAY, JANUARY 21ST
Gary Nelson will be bringing our program for this coming Thursday, January 21st. It will be a great program. He is bringing Emilia Aldape, the Home Health/Interim Hospice Director at CTMC.
CTMC recognizes that death is the final stage in life, and is dedicated to serving patients
and families through compassionate and holistic care. They believe that maintaining respect for dignity and individuality is essential to enhancing life.
Let's have a great turnout for this program.

 It was so good to see John Polk back at our last club meeting. That just goes to show you that you 'can't keep a good man down'. Take it slow and easy, John and you will be given the strength you need to be back enjoying your favorite things.

 FUN FACTS ABOUT THE NUMBER "5"
1. "5" is a Prime Number./

 BOARD MEETING COMING UP ON THURSDAY,JANUARY 21ST
President Moe is reminding all of the Board members, that we will have a board meeting on Thursday, January 21st, at 5:30pm and it will be held at the Horizon Bay Nursing Home. We will meet in the Library. This may help some members who get off work later than 5pm.

 IT WAS COLD AND BRISK, BUT FLAGS WERE PUT UP ON MONDAY.
It was indeed a cold morning, but we had a great bunch out to put up flags last Monday for MLK Day.

Pancake Day Letters and Forms have been available;e for the last two weeks. Have you picked any up, and
have you started soliciting for auction items. We don't want to wait until the last couple of days.
We had a very successful event last year, and the main contributing factor was that everyone
got behind it. We expect every member of our club to pitch in, not just a few. The work schedule
is being worked on right now....so keep THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25 OPEN! Pick up some flyers, and pass them around the businesses. Sell your tickets! Give them away, but don't forget to pay for them. This is one of
our major fundraiser...let's make it a good one,.
