We had two guests last Thursday: David Chandler brought Randell Grizzel and Gary Strunk brought his wife, Nancy. We welcome guests with open arms.

Riddle #1.....The answer is not as jumbled as this: SACKTE, but the meaning is the same.

I will have to admit that I never had the least idea that The Salvation Army did as many things as they do. We had a delightful and informative program last Thursday brought by Randy Cook....Kathy McNiel, director of San Marcos Salvation Army. Not only do they provide financial help, but also meals, school supplies, medical help, for people who are really down and out. It's good to know that such an agency as The Salvation Army is out there, because no matter what kind of family or individual crisis comes, it is good to know that there is an agency that can make the burden a little easier to carry. Thank you Randy, and Thank you Gary Strunk for being a part of The Salvation Army. What a blessing!
Remember some of the programs Sam Brannon has brought in the past, well he's going to bring another interesting and informative program this coming Thursday, February 12. He is going to be discussing two subjects of great interest: The Flouride in the Water issue, and Our County's Debt Concern. Let's not miss it. Bring a guest with you. Guests are always welcome.
Greetings from the frozen tundra of the North Pole!
OK, so greetings from Allen, Texas....had you going there for a moment, didn't I? I hope everyone had safe and happy holidays, shared with your family and friends.
We are beginning the first of three Mid-Year Conferences, the first in the Heartland in Midwest City, Oklahome, then to arlington for Metroplex, and finally to San Antonio for south Texas in March. Exciting times with fellowship, education and fun! Watch for registration information from the District Office for any of the events and we look forward to seeing everyone at one of them.
Good news from the membership front - as of December 31st, we were up by 106 members! Great work and thanks to everyone for their hard work. Let's continue and see if we can double that by the South Texas Mid-Year in San Antonio. We can do it!
Hope you're making plans for the 'party' called the International Convention this summer in Indianapolis. And T-O is STILL the world leader for model clubs for Eliminate.....way to go, T-O! Everything is bigger and better here! So keep up the wonderful things you are doing and don't forget to share pictures, articles and experiences for the newsletters. Governor Colleen
"HEART OF SERVICE GOVERNOR'S VISIT".....Saturday, February 14, 2015....Temple Texas. There are four from our club going to join and welcome Governor Colleen Biggerstaff along with other
members from division 23, 24 and 38. They will be celebrating the 100th Year of Kiwanis Service. Those going from our club will be Rob Martin, Chester Banks, John Polk & Del Brown. Lunch will be at 11:30am - 2:00 pm in the Natural Grocers Community Room, 3621 General Bruce Drive. From 9:00am - 11:00am, the Kids Against Hunger organization will provide fortified soy and rice casserole meals for starving children around the world. As many meals as possible will be put together in 2 hours.

Just a reminder to put out flags and collect them again next Monday, February 16. It is President's Day, and let it be the first time that those who see the flags flying will know that they have come from our club.Meet at 7am at Ted's place.
REMEMBER!!! Next Thursday's club meeting, we are going to take a picture for the newspaper publicizing our upcoming Pancake Day andSilent Auction. If you want to be in the picture, bring your Kiwanis apron and a maybe a spatula or two.
We will submit the picture and an article Thursday afternoon.
