Board of Directors Meeting...
Our Board of Directors had a very short meeting on Thursday, February 21 with Rhonda White, President Elect presiding. Those other members present were Glen Rydl, Secretary; Randy Cook, Treasurer; Pam Cook, Member; Andrew Gary, Member; Charles Walts, Member; and Del Brown (non voting member). The Secretary's minutes were approved as was the Treasurer's report. There was only one subject on the agenda, which was taken care of.
Last Week's Program
Last Week's program was one that we all needed to hear and to discuss. With our annual Pancake Day and Silent Auction coming up next week, Past President Doug Balkman spelled out in vivid detail what every body's jobs were in connection with the event.
It takes a great deal of time to get ready, and each member has a specific job to perform. All members need to be at the Activity Center by 8am to get things ready to go. If you have money for tickets to give to Randy, be sure and bring them with you when you come. Remember why we do this year after year (our 80th Anniversary) and all of the children that will be helped. Let's strive to make this an event to top all others.

K-Kids Meeting Coming Up
Randy Cook has alerted our club that Christina Patek, Faculty Advisor for the Lorenzo De-Zavala K-Kids chapter will be having a meeting on February 25th from 3-4pm. She is hoping that some of our club members will be able to attend.
Some of the K-Kids will be helping us at the evening service on Pancake Day and they are selling pancake tickets. Hope we can have some members go to their meeting on the 25th.

History of the Minnesota State Flag History
Minnesota's official flag was adopted in 1893. The flag has a blue background. The central seal pictures a farmer plowing a field and an Indian riding a horse toward the sun. The scene is surrounded by ladyslippers , Minnesota's state flower. A red banner with yellow letters has the state motto, "LETOILE DU NORD," meaning "the star of the north" in French. Three dates are on the flag: 1858 (at the top), the year Minnesota became a state; 1819 (at the left, the year Fort Snelling was established; and 1893 (at the right), the year this flag was adopted. Nineteen yellow stars surround the seal on a white band; these stars symbolize that fact Minnesota was the 29th state to enter the union after the first 13. "MINNESOTA" is written in red on the white band.
