If you are scheduled to be Greeter for a particular Thursday, try to arrive at Grins by about 11:30am, put on the special Greeter's badge and then greet each and every member and visitors as they come in.

-------There were quite a few Kiwanis members who attended Betty Bank's Memorial Service last Saturday at the First Baptist Church. Chester Banks is one of our older members and the club's love for him was shown last Thursday by taking up an in-club donation which came to over $200.00 and it was learned that Chester's wish was to give that money to the Hays Caldwell County Women's Shelters in Betty's memory.
Last Week's Program
Charles Johnson brought one of his very popular travelogue program last Thursday, and it was all about his trip to Barcelona Spain and especially the visiting of the very beautiful cathedral in Barcelona. It was originally started by the Sagrada Family, but was taken over by Gaudi. Gaudi's original design called for a total of eighteen spires, representing in ascending order of height the 12 Apostles, the Virgin Mary, the four Evangelists and, tallest of all, Jesus Christ.
The Evangelists' spires are surmounted by sculptures of (Charlie Chaplin) their traditional symbols: a winged bull (St. Luke), a winged man (St. Matthew), an eagle (St John, and a winged lion (St. Mark).
I would have a hard time putting down all the little details that Charles told about this cathedral, but I will say this about Charles's wish is to someday returning to Barcelona. He was absolutely spellbound over this Cathedral. Thanks you Charles, as usual for one of your interesting trips.

Program for this coming Thursday, September 27th
Well that very special event is soon upon us...this coming Thursday is our Installation Banquet and Installation of our new officers for the year 2018-2019. We have as our special guest speaker, Jimmie Scott, President Emeritus of San Marcos Baptist Academy.
Our Secretary will be handing out Perfect Attendance Certificates as well as some other special awards. And of course, there will also be the announcing of the Kiwanian of the Year. No one knows who it is, and we'll find out Thursday night. Let's have a grand time. Don't forget the time is 6:00pm or earlier, at the Price Center.
The Installation Banquet is upon us...This Thursday Evening.....
Our annual Installation and Awards Banquet is right upon us.... this coming Thursday, September 27th, at the Price Center. By now you should have turned in your menu desire, and if possible have given Randy the money up front before the 27th. It's going to be a great Banquet. Lots of work has gone into it. We'll be handing out perfect attendance awards. We have 16 perfect attendees. We should have more. There are so many extra ways you can be given attendance. Check with Secretary Glen Rydl, and he will tell you the ways. It's a lot more than just meeting for our weekly luncheon
On the morning of the 27th, we will be having a Roundtable at Grin's Restaurant. These are fun. Let's have a good crowd and have fun getting ready for the banquet that night. Roundtable will be at regular lunch time.
