A “busy weekend” refers to a Friday, Saturday and Sunday that is packed with various activities, events, or obligations that need as many people as possible!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
You guessed it! That is what the San Marcos Kiwanis Club will be having, this weekend!
1. Friday: Nov. 6, 2026: Celebration of Chester Banks life- 10:00 am at the 1st Baptist Church located off McCarty Road, San Marcos, TX.
Directions: Wonder World exit, turn left onto Hunter Rd (past McCoy's), turn right on McCarty. Church is on the left.)
2. Saturday: Nov. 7, 2026: Veteran's Day Parade, Show up by the square at 9:30am, to represent the Kiwanis Club in the parade.
3. Saturday: Nov. 7, 2026: Texas Capital Air Show put on by Wings and Warriors organization. The show runs from 9:00am-4:30 and is being held at the San Marcos Airport. There is an entrance fee, but I believe it will be money spent well. Jennifer Richmond, Penny Slavik, and Cheryl Petre (Sunday only) will be at an on-site Kiwanis booth.
4. Sunday: Nov. 8, 2026: Texas Capital Air Show.Same info as Saturday. Go to texascapitalairshow.com for more information. They are also looking for volunteers to help out, on both days.
Today's meeting took place at the San Marcos Public Library. The program was presented by Gabby Garcia, an employee of Texas Disposal Systems. Due to our "very busy" weekend, I will share the notes on her program, in the next newsletter.
Thanks go out to Kristi Dame for picking up the bicycles that have been donated by the Academy Store. Thanks also go out to Cheryl Petre, Jennifer Richmond, and Chase Dame, for meeting at the library. The bicycles will be on display, at the Public Library, until Saturday morning. Many thanks go to Academy store for making 2 children's dreams come true.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026: Roundtable at McBride Wilson Kiwanis Camp. Very informal, but lots to discuss! Lunch: Personal brown bag.
Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026: San Marcos High School Principal, Eileen Grose, will talk about the different courses and opportunities made available to the High School students. Held at the San Marcos Public Library. Lunch will be provided for $10.00 each.
Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026: Roundtable discussion at McBride Wilson Kiwanis Camp. Bring your own lunch.
