REPORTS:
The San Marcos Academy is excited about our participation in the Back-t0-School cheering groups. If you can be there by 7:00 am. on Aug. 12th, be sure to wear something identifying yourself as a Kiwanian. Bring a lawn chair if you want.
Camp clean up day is set to start at 9:00 am. on Friday, Aug. 15th. It is on the Kiwanis Club website calendar. Lon said several loads of gravel had been delivered to mitigate the muddy roads after so much rain. Tree trimming has been added to the list of things to do. If anyone has a pole trimmer, please bring it for the clean up day. Everyone is welcome to come even if you can't work. Bringing snacks and drinks is always appreciated. Lon said the teepee the Good Citizen Camp kids constructed is still standing although starting to list a little.
Kelli and Penny are working on the Installation Banquet. We will need a printed program created.
Saltgrass is giving us a check for $200 due to how much we ate at their charity donation event.
Willie and Rick went to the District Convention together. Rick commented that he found a pickle in his vehicle when they got back. Turned out it was a Buc-Ee's pickle Willie forgot about.
Topics they learned about were the new "Engage" program being implemented; Appreciation certificates and awards we can give to our members; and payment options Clubs can use for fundraisers among other areas of interest.
Del Brown and Pam Cook, both who passed away during this year, were honored at the convention.
