Kiwanis Club 
What a Day today was....President's Day...Flag Display ...and having a special Proclamation Read. It was a bitter cold day this morning as flags were put up by our club, with the help of recipients from Gary Job Corps, but the temperature didn't deter a sizeable crowd from showing up on the steps of the San Marcos Court House. Several city officials were present, including Mayor Jane Hughson, Jude Prather, our Veteran's Assistance Officer, and Ruben Becerra, our newly elected Hays County Judge. After the flags were properly put up around the Kiwanis routes, Judge Barrera read a Proclamation that included not only the Kiwanis Club and Gary Job Corp, but highlighting all other organizations that has as their purpose, serving the children, youth and adults with programs that are in keeping with strengthening our families, youth and children in San Marcos.
Randy Cook, chairman of our Kiwanis flag program gave a very thorough description of what our local Kiwanis Club does to enhance all aspects of our children and youth through the elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and in our Texas State University.
The morning was well spent, even though it was cold, but our community got a current knowledge of all that is going on through some of our service organization. Thanks to all Kiwanis flag displayers for doing a fantastic job.
